On February 29th, Skills Society’s Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee, in collaboration with Black leaders in our Skills community, hosted an event to honor and celebrate Black History month. The day encompassed a panel discussion with some Black leaders at Skills Society followed by a feast with drumming, singing, and dancing.

Skills Society employees who are currently enrolled in or are considering post-secondary education can apply for an Education Award valued at $500. The purpose of the Skills Society Employee Education Awards is to foster leadership development by supporting employees in participating in formal post-secondary education programs that further their learning and growth in the field of disability studies and/or leadership.

Skills Society congratulates the winners of the 2022 Skills Society Citizenship and Education awards. The awards were handed out at the Skills Society Annual General Meeting on June 28th, 2023, to recognize and celebrate the efforts of individuals and organizations in our community who are contributing to fostering a vibrant and inclusive community.

We’re excited to share our 2023 annual report! This year’s theme, Now What? Carrying Our Learning Forward, Imagining Better Futures, is both a call to action and a time to look forward and imagine the future we want to build together.
