Emily Hamilton

Team Coordinator

Emily used to work in the hospitality industry and talks about how she fell upon disability services, ultimately finding something that really resonated with her passion of helping others. She has now been working in the field for almost a decade and joined Skills Society 5 years ago. Emily has worked many positions over the years, from working front line, supporting at day programs, providing community supports and coaching teams in multiple Team Leader positions. She states she is continually learning from the individuals served and the people she works alongside. Emily prioritizes meaningful connections by showing up authentically and using a non-judgemental approach.

Emily is happy to work alongside others who share her values and believes in the phrase ‘it takes a village.’ She knows that having a sense of community and belonging is a crucial part of supporting people to have meaningful and happy lives.

Emily feels that sense of community working at Skills Society. Where individuality and growth is fostered.

Emily also enjoys teaching other staff members as a Mandt System instructor for Skills Society, as well as mentoring practicum students. Sharing experiences and valuable knowledge is something that drives her passion of coaching others.
