Come join the Future of Home Inclusive Housing Solutions Lab!

Have you ever wondered...

What might an affordable housing and support model that also supports the social inclusion and belonging of people with developmental disabilities look like?

About the Future of Home Inclusive Housing Solutions Lab

In March of this year, Skills received funding from the Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) to steward a social innovation lab on the "Future of Home" for people with developmental disabilities. Partnering with Inclusion Alberta, Capital Region Housing, and Homeward Trust, this lab will explore and develop two housing and support model prototypes that are affordable, accessible, and support the social inclusion of people with developmental disabilities in new and creative ways.

Over the course of 5 months (September 2020 through to January 2021), two core teams made up of diverse stakeholders will support the development of two housing and support model prototypes. We're looking to connect with stellar leaders and doers with diverse perspectives and who can easily collaborate across disciplines. Each of the two teams will have about 6-7 people. These are small teams and there may be lots of interest. For those who are not selected to participate on one of the two core teams there may be other ways to be involved, such as advisory roles and participating in interviews. We are looking at what is possible with the limited resources we have. If this interests you, click here to learn more about this opportunity and how to apply.
