Wendy Ross
Accountant
Wendy has been with Skills Society since July 2014 and has 21 years of experience working in payroll. She brings deep knowledge of payroll and always strives to ensure pay is delivered on time, in accordance with established employment contracts.
Her role in Accounting offers many interesting challenges. From navigating through the hourly and salary payrolls to Accounts Payable, there are always situations that arise where communication and understanding the issues are vital for positive outcomes.
The launch of Avanti Software in 2017 was initially implemented to eliminate the need for paper timesheets for most of the hourly employees. She is continually working on ways to improve methods of reporting payroll results within the Avanti platform.
She is grateful to work for Skills Society because the organization’s commitment to serve individuals with dignity and respect is so very important to the community in which they serve. Wendy strongly believes in these values and incorporates them in her daily life.
Outside of work Wendy enjoys spending time with family, cheering on the Edmonton Oilers, and being outdoors walking, hiking and boating. Growing up in Edmonton has instilled the importance of getting outside and enjoying fresh air as much as possible.
