Re: NEW Skills Society COVID-19 Information Email for People we Support, Families and Guardians

From: Senior Leadership of Skills Society

September 21, 2020

Since the beginning of the pandemic we have been working hard to be responsive to new information as it becomes available, and have been doing our best to communicate new information to the people we support, families, guardians, and employees in a timely manner. We regularly provide new information regarding COVID-19 through public memos, the COVID-19 resources page on our website, and direct check-ins from Managers. Furthermore, information regarding new and updated procedures and safeguards and check ins with employees continue through monthly team meetings, memos, the COVID-19 employee portal on the website, the Relaunch FAQs for All Staff, and virtual employee gatherings.

We greatly appreciate everyone’s diligence in remaining up to date with all Skills communication!

People we support, families and guardians, can now also send general COVID-19 questions or inquiries to a NEW email address: covidinfo @  skillssociety.ca. We will do our best to respond within 48 hours, however this will be dependent on the volume of emails. Based on the inquiry received, questions may be forwarded to the appropriate person within the organization or we may request that the sender contact Health Authorities. We ask that any questions regarding direct care continue to be sent to the Manager associated with your loved one’s support.

*Note - Skills employees are requested to contact their supervisor or the Pandemic Coordinators, Linda or Ed, with questions regarding COVID-19.

You can continue to keep up to date with Skills news through our website. Thank you for your ongoing patience and support as we continue to navigate these times.

Sincerely,

The Senior Leadership Team
